NICE TO MEET YA!
I’M cherelle!
I’m a therapist, founder, educator, and content creator passionate about helping people heal, grow, and build lives that feel more aligned, intentional, and sustainable.
THESE ARE A FEW OF MY FAVORITE THINGS
Who I Am:
Hi, I’m Cherelle Palmer—therapist, founder, content creator, educator, supervisor, and passionate advocate for helping people build healthier, more sustainable lives.
I’m the Founder, CEO, and Clinical Director of The Palmer Wellness Institute, a growing mental health practice dedicated to providing thoughtful, high-quality care for individuals navigating anxiety, trauma, burnout, fertility challenges, and major life transitions. What began as a vision to create the kind of care I believed people truly deserved has grown into a thriving practice rooted in clinical excellence, compassion, and meaningful connection.
At the heart of everything I do is one belief: healing happens when people feel safe enough to stop performing and start showing up as their full, authentic selves.
As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and EMDR-trained therapist, my work has centered around helping high-achieving individuals—especially women, perfectionists, caregivers, and eldest daughters—break free from survival mode and reconnect with themselves in deeper, more intentional ways. I’m deeply passionate about helping people understand not just their thoughts, but also the nervous system patterns, trauma responses, and relational experiences shaping how they move through the world.
I earned two graduate degrees from New York University: a Master of Arts in Mental Health and Wellness and a Master of Public Health. Together, these degrees shaped my clinical approach and strengthened my belief that mental health must be understood through a holistic lens—one that considers emotional wellbeing, relationships, culture, systems, and lived experience.
My professional journey has also given me unique expertise in fertility and third-party reproduction. Prior to focusing fully on private practice, I worked at one of the world’s leading surrogacy agencies, where I served as Team Lead of the Matching Team. In that role, I facilitated hundreds of matches between intended parents and gestational carriers while supporting countless individuals through some of the most emotional and life-changing moments of their lives. This experience gave me a rare depth of understanding around infertility, grief, family building, and reproductive mental health.
Beyond clinical work, I am deeply passionate about mental health education and making conversations around emotional wellness more honest, accessible, and relatable. Through speaking, consulting, digital education, and content creation, I have built an online community of more than 36,000 people across social media platforms. My work focuses on helping people better understand anxiety, trauma, perfectionism, relationships, and the emotional weight of constantly being “the strong one.”
I’m also the host of the According to My Therapist podcast, a space where we have honest conversations about healing, relationships, emotional wellness, and the realities of navigating life as a human. It’s an extension of the work I care deeply about—making mental health feel accessible, relatable, and real.
I am also deeply passionate about supporting fellow mental health professionals. As a supervisor, consultant, and group practice owner, I help therapists build sustainable, values-aligned careers and practices that create meaningful impact without burnout. I especially love helping clinicians start, grow, and scale private practices while navigating the mindset shifts, leadership challenges, and business strategies required to build something both successful and sustainable.
In addition, I collaborate with brands and organizations whose missions align with my values around mental health, wellness, and personal growth. Through thoughtful partnerships, educational campaigns, and strategic collaborations, I help bridge the gap between clinical expertise and accessible, real-world conversations around emotional wellbeing.
As a woman of Jamaican descent, I also care deeply about the intersection of culture, identity, family dynamics, and mental health. I believe healing is never one-size-fits-all, and meaningful growth requires honoring the full context of who we are.
Whether through therapy, supervision, consulting, education, content creation, or brand partnerships, my mission remains the same: to help people heal, grow, and create lives that feel more aligned, intentional, and authentic.
I’m so glad you’re here.
